LO2 - Inspiration for character design and storyline
I will be using the art of Aaron Blaise as inspiration for my character design.
Aaron Blaise is an animator and artist who has worked for Disney, working on films such as The Lion King, Aladdin and Brother Bear. He also worked on the 2013 John Lewis advert, The Bear and the Hare.
I will be taking most of my inspiration from his work on Brother Bear and his independent art pieces which feature bears, as this is the animal my character will be.
He works both digitally and traditionally, but predominantly in 2D animation. My character design will also be for use in a 2D animation. He makes tutorials that he uploads to YouTube that I will use to help design my character. His tutorials focus on topics such as anatomy and expression which will both be important factors to consider when I design my own character.
He begins his work on the bear at around the 08:07 mark.
